My fiance told me the same thing last week. I don't know which article he read, but he's got Amazon Prime, too. I had your same reaction, Dianne, thinking "that's A LOT of free Kindles going out the door." It would be really nice, since mf said he'd give his free one to my mother (isn't he sweet?) if it did happen.

Well I'm not going to hold my breath either. Especially since it's hard to imagine that they'd give one for free to people who already own one. Although it would be cool if they compensated Kindle owners with a credit towards future purchases.

It could actually save them money in shipping in the long run if the majority of the Prime subscribers bought ebooks instead physical copies.

Unfortunately, I still get mostly physical copies for existing authors/series that I read and save the Kindle version for ones I'm not already physically collecting.
